Karnataka High Court: Arnab Goswami Booked Recklessly In Fake Case News

The Karnataka High Court quashed the case against Goswami, who was booked on allegations that Republic TV aired fake news reports on Chief Minister of Karnataka-Siddaramaiah.

The First Information Report (FIR) against Goswami was made by Karnataka Congress Member Ravindra MV claiming that Bengaluru traffic was stopped for CM Siddaramaiah, denying an ambulance, despite Goswami not being involved in the broadcast.

The Court said, “Petitioner is dragged in only because he is Arnab Goswami” and found no evidence under Section 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code, against him also stated that further investigation would entail an abuse of the legal process and quashed the case.
