The Karnataka High Court has restrained Bengaluru police from arresting or taking any coercive action against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) officials and event organizer DNA Entertainment in connection with the June 4 Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede that killed 11 and injured over 50.
The Court noted that only the FIR under CID investigation will proceed, while action on two other FIRs will be paused.
The bench directed the petitioners to fully cooperate with ongoing CID investigations.
The interim protection is extended until July 8. A suo motu PIL has also been registered, and the High Court will hear a status report and responses in its next hearing on June 23.
