The Karnataka High Court has scheduled the hearing of former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna’s appeal against his life sentence in a rape case for October 28, 2025.
A division bench of Justices K.S. Mudagal and Venkatesh Naik T directed the State to clarify whether a Special Public Prosecutor has been appointed for the appeal, similar to the trial. Revanna’s counsel was asked to file a detailed synopsis.
The appellant contends that the complaint and evidence are inconsistent, questions the credibility of certain material, and alleges police coercion. He also claims the delay in filing the complaint undermines the case.
