Karnataka High Court Questions Government for Submitting Stampede Report in Sealed Cover

The Karnataka High Court questioned the state's decision to file the stampede inquiry report in a sealed cover, emphasizing transparency in the ongoing suo motu PIL.

The Advocate General justified the sealed filing, citing concerns that early disclosure could affect the judicial commission and bail hearings, and assured submission of all material, including Kannada records, along with appointing an amicus curiae.

The Court also expressed concern over overlapping investigations by magisterial and single-member panels and sought clarification on their necessity.

The court directed the impleadment of KSCA, RCB, and DNA Networks. The matter will be heard next on June 23.
