Adv Beyline Das Moves Kerala High Court Against Bar Council's Disciplinary Action

Advocate Beyline Das, suspended by the Kerala Bar Council for allegedly assaulting junior lawyer Shyamily Justin, has approached the Kerala High Court challenging the disciplinary action. 

Das contends that the Bar Council’s term expired on May 6, 2024, and hence lacked authority to issue a suspension on May 14, 2025, in violation of the court's decision in Yeshwanth Shenoy v State of Kerala, where the Bar Council was found to be continuing unlawfully post-term.

A criminal case under the BNS is also pending against him. Justice N. Nagaresh issued notice and directed the Bar Council to file its response by July 1, 2025.
