Kerala Court Orders Criminal Complaint Against Producer for Filing False Affidavit in Case Against Nivin Pauly

A Kerala court has ordered the filing of a criminal complaint against film producer PS Shamnas after finding that he filed a false affidavit to secure registration of a cheating case against actor Nivin Pauly and director Abrid Shine in connection with Action Hero Biju 2.

The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-I, Vaikom, held that Shamnas suppressed the existence of a pending commercial dispute and injunction before the Ernakulam commercial court.

Holding that he had prima facie committed fraud on the court, it directed the filing of a complaint under Section 379 of the BNSS for offences under Sections 229, 236, and 237 of the BNS.

A plea filed by Pauly is listed next on March 12, 2026.
