Kerala Court Grants Bail to Influencer Shimjitha Musthafa in Deepak Suicide Case

A Sessions Court, Kozhikode, granted bail to content creator Shimjitha Musthafa, who was booked for abetment of suicide after posting a video accusing U Deepak of misconduct during a bus ride.

The case arises from a January 16 bus journey, after which Deepak died by suicide, leading to Musthafa’s arrest under provisions of the BNS and the Kerala Police Act.

The Court noted that the investigation had advanced considerably, statements of key witnesses had been recorded, and her mobile phone had been seized for forensic examination.

Thhe Court granted bail with conditions, including regular appearance before the investigating officer and a restriction on influencing witnesses.
