Kerala Court Grants Police 3-Day Custody of MLA Rahul Mamkootathil in Third Rape Case

A Kerala court granted the police custody of expelled Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil until the evening of January 15 in connection with a third rape case filed against him.

The magistrate allowed custodial interrogation to recover digital evidence, verify travel records, and examine medical documents.

Mamkootathil has denied the allegations, claiming the relationship with the complainant was consensual and that he ended it after learning she was married.

His plea for bail will be considered on January 16. He now faces three separate sexual assault cases, with previous anticipatory bail and arrest stays granted by courts.
