The Kerala High Court was informed that the Bar Council of India’s Legal Education Committee will meet within 10 days to decide whether the compliance report submitted by Government Law College, Kozhikode, can be accepted for BCI affiliation.
The BCI told the Court that although fees had been paid over the years, mere payment was not sufficient without a proper compliance report, especially in view of a 15-year delay.
The Court noted the government’s submission that fees were regularly remitted and communications were sent to BCI.
Observing that students’ futures are at stake, the Court posted the matter after 10 days for further consideration.
