The Kerala High Court directed that a fresh notice be served to former MLA PV Anvar in a case alleging illegal phone tapping of senior police officials and others.
The order was issued after a previous notice sent to Anvar, in response to a plea seeking a CBI probe, was returned unclaimed.
The petitioner, businessman Murugesh Narendran, alleges that Anvar admitted to the phone tapping during a press conference, raising concerns over violations of privacy and various laws.
The Court noted that Anvar’s absence may be due to his election-related activities and ordered that the new notice be served via speed post.
