The Kerala High Court is actively monitoring the formulation of comprehensive guidelines for the treatment of snakebite cases in the state.
The Bench emphasised the urgent need for standardized medical protocols, ensuring timely diagnosis, anti-venom availability, and appropriate training of healthcare workers, especially in rural areas.
The Court was hearing a plea concerning gaps in emergency medical response and expressed concern over the increasing fatalities due to snakebites.
The court directed the State to coordinate with health authorities and submit progress reports. The matter has been posted for further hearing after four weeks.
