Kerala HC Grants Anticipatory Bail to 'Manjummel Boys' Producers in ₹7 Crore Cheating Case

The Kerala High Court granted anticipatory bail to actor-producer Soubin Shahir, his father Babu Shahir, and producer Shawn Antony in a cheating case filed by investor Siraj Valiyathara.

The trio had entered into a ₹7 crore profit-sharing agreement for the Malayalam blockbuster Manjummel Boys. 

Despite the film grossing over ₹250 crore, the investor alleges non-payment and filed a complaint under the IPC. Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas ruled that the dispute is mainly commercial and custodial interrogation wasn’t necessary.

The Court directed them to appear for limited police questioning on July 7–8 between 10 AM and 5 PM.
