A transgender woman has approached the Kerala High Court seeking reservation and a separate rank list for transgender candidates in admissions to Government Law Colleges across the State.
The petitioner, who qualified in KLEE 2025, said she was denied admission to GLC Kozhikode since no transgender category exists in the allotment process.
She argued that this violates the Supreme Court’s NALSA judgment, the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019, and Kerala government orders recognising transgender persons as socially and educationally backward.
The plea seeks immediate admission under a transgender quota and future reservation in all state-controlled educational institutions.
