National Institute of Open Schools Students Eligible for 5-Year LLB Course Admission : Kerala High Court

The Kerala High Court ruled that students with 10th and 12th qualifications from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) are eligible for admission to 5-year integrated LLB programs.

The court affirmed that NIOS is a recognised national-level board, equivalent to CBSE and ICSE.

The court cited Rule 5(b) of the BCI Legal Education Rules, which allows +2 qualifications through open schooling, provided basic educational prerequisites are met.

The court directed Sree Narayana Law College to admit the petitioner, who had been denied entry solely due to his NIOS background.
