The Kerala High Court has issued notice to Veena Vijayan, daughter of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and 11 others on a plea by BJP leader Shone George seeking a deeper probe into an alleged ₹182 crore financial fraud involving Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL) and Exalogic Solutions.
A Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) report alleged that ₹2.7 crore was paid to Veena and her firm without any services rendered, routed through shell companies.
Citing Sections 447, 448, 129, and 134 of the Companies Act, George urged further investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, Prevention of Corruption Act, and Representation of People Act.
The matter is listed after four weeks.
