The Kerala High Court has dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Civil Police Officer Santhy Krishnan, accused of misappropriating ₹20.9 lakh collected as traffic fines between 2009 and 2021.
The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau alleged she falsified cash books and deposited lesser amounts while diverting the balance. Her counsel claimed false implication, but evidence, including bank officials’ statements, showed she personally made the remittances.
The Court noted that her expenses exceeded her income and cited the Supreme Court ruling in Devinder Kumar Bansal v. State of Punjab, holding that there were no exceptional grounds for bail.
