The Kerala High Court asked the State to report on the progress of five FIRs registered in 2022 following its January 18 order on actor Dileep’s petition alleging media-trial in the 2017 actress assault case.
Dileep’s counsel submitted that, although the FIRs were registered, no effective investigation has taken place.
The Court remarked that “the purpose of this petition is already over” and granted the public prosecutor time to obtain instructions, adjourning the matter to next week.
The underlying assault case, in which Dileep is arrayed as the eighth accused, is scheduled for verdict before the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court on December 8.
