The court discussed a proposed draft law, "The Kerala Entertainment Industry (Equality and Empowerment) Act," to ensure fair hiring, equal wages, and better conditions.
Suggestions included forming a Kerala Entertainment Industry Regulatory Authority (KEIRA) and Tribunal (KEIT) to address disputes and workplace harassment.
The Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce was implemented despite objections from the Women in Cinema Collective.
The court clarified its advisory role, with the next hearing set for February 6, 2025.
