Kerala High Court Holds In-Camera Hearing in Sabarimala Gold Loss Case, Restricts Media Access

The Kerala High Court held in-camera proceedings in the case involving the alleged loss of 4.54 kg of gold from the gold-plated copper plates covering the Dwarapalaka idols at the Sabarimala temple.

A Bench of Justices Raja Vijayaraghavan V and KV Jayakumar restricted media and public access during the proceedings, which stemmed from a report noting a 4.54 kg gold discrepancy.

The Court earlier ordered a Special Investigation Team and warned the media against sensationalism. Finding serious lapses by the Travancore Devaswom Board, the Court appointed retired Justice KT Sankaran to supervise a fresh inventory of temple valuables.
