Kerala High Court Closes Plea Against CBFC After Title Change in Suresh Gopi Film

The Kerala High Court has closed a petition against the CBFC after it cleared Suresh Gopi’s film, now titled Janaki V vs. State of Kerala, for release on July 17.

The CBFC objected to the original title Janaki v. State of Kerala, citing concerns over using “Janaki,” a name linked to Goddess Sita, for a rape survivor character.

The certificate was issued after the producers changed the title and muted the name in one scene. Justice N. Nagaresh recorded the developments and closed the petition.  (M/s Cosmos Entertainments v. The Regional Officer)
