Kerala High Court Slams Kerala University Over Inaction on Registrar’s Suspension in Bharat Mata Portrait Row

The Kerala High Court criticised Kerala University for its indecisiveness in suspending Registrar Dr KS Anil Kumar over the removal of a Bharat Mata portrait from a seminar venue.

Justice TR Ravi likened the actions of the University to a “cat and mouse game”, questioning why clarity was not maintained and why the administration was shifting responsibility.

The Court noted that the controversy had brought embarrassment to the institution and called for accountability from the University Syndicate and the Vice-Chancellor. The matter will be heard next on August 4.
