The Kerala High Court directed the Kerala Water Authority to ensure uninterrupted supply of drinking water to residents of West Kochi, including Chellanam panchayat, Kumbalangi panchayat and 30 wards of the Kochi Corporation.
The Court passed an interim order after noting allegations of acute water scarcity despite repeated representations to authorities.
It directed KWA officials to take immediate steps to provide adequate drinking water and to file an affidavit within two weeks detailing measures taken to address the issue.
The matter has been listed for further hearing on February 19.
