The Kerala High Court granted a 15-day parole to a life convict to solemnise his marriage, emphasising the bride’s brave decision to marry despite his life sentence.
The convict, in this case, was among those found guilty in a conspiracy and murder case.
The court quoted poet Maya Angelou, saying, “Love recognises no barriers", while exercising its extraordinary jurisdiction after jail authorities denied parole under prison rules.
The marriage was arranged before conviction, and the bride insisted on proceeding with the wedding. The Court directed the convict to return to prison by July 26. The court blessed the couple, highlighting love’s power to overcome obstacles.
