The Kerala High Court has granted conditional bail to a Senior Civil Police Officer accused of taking a ₹2,000 bribe, booked under Section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
According to the prosecution, the officer demanded the bribe over the phone twice in exchange for providing case documents. The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau verified the complaint and caught him red-handed in a trap, and got him arrested.
Justice A. Badharudeen found a prima facie case but granted bail, considering the officer was a first-time offender, had been in custody since July 2, 2025, and the investigation had progressed.
