The Kerala High Court granted interim protection from arrest to Malayalam rapper Hiran Das Murali, known as Vedan, in a rape case filed by a woman doctor.
The bench allowed a woman who accused rapper Hiran Das Murali, known by his stage name Vedan, of sexual assault to be impleaded as a party in his anticipatory bail plea.
Vedan claimed the relationship was voluntary and the complaint arose after a personal fallout. The complainant opposed bail, citing two other rape complaints against Vedan. Earlier this year, Vedan was arrested twice in unrelated cases but released on bail both times.
