Kerala High Court Issues Notification Postponing Kerala Judicial Service (Preliminary) Examination 2025

The Registrar of the Kerala High Court has notified that the Kerala Judicial Service (Preliminary) Examination, scheduled for 18th May, is postponed.

The exam was intended for the direct recruitment of Civil Judges (Junior Division) across various vacancies in the state judiciary.

The postponement follows ongoing proceedings in All India Judges Association & Ors. v Union of India, where the Supreme Court is reconsidering whether a minimum of three years’ bar practice should be mandatory for eligibility.

The Supreme Court had removed this requirement in its All India Judges Association case (2002), but rising concerns about judicial preparedness have led to its potential reinstatement. A new exam date is awaited.
