The Kerala High Court has directed the Cochin Devaswom Board’s Chief Vigilance Officer to maintain constant vigilance against fake websites and social media accounts fraudulently collecting online donations and pooja bookings in the name of temples.
The Court ordered prompt action against any online platform misusing temple names, including filing police complaints, and directed the Board to display official website and social media details at temple premises for devotees’ awareness.
The ongoing inquiry into fake accounts must be completed within three months, with action against those responsible. Temple Advisory Committees are prohibited from collecting money via unofficial online platforms.
