The Kerala High Court was informed that a draft legislation, built on the Hema Committee Report probing sexual harassment in the Malayalam film industry, is likely to be placed before the Council of Ministers in the first week of November.
During the hearing, a Special Bench pointed out that the PoSH Act, 2013, lacks provisions to protect women entering the entertainment industry, and showed concern over the delay in framing suitable rules
The government’s advocate told the Court that public suggestions have been collected and incorporated into the draft. The matters are posted for the second week of November for progress updates.
