The Kerala High Court has sought detailed information from the State authorities on the rent and relocation charges provided to residents displaced due to the demolition of an Army radar tower in Kochi.
The Court asked the government to clarify whether adequate compensation and alternative accommodation were arranged for affected occupants. It noted that displacement without proper rehabilitation raises serious concerns relating to fairness and administrative accountability.
The Court emphasised that while security and infrastructure requirements may justify such actions, affected residents cannot be left without reasonable support.
The matter will be examined further after the authorities place relevant details on record.
