Kerala High Court Slams Thiruvananthapuram Corporation for Failing to Remove Illegal Flex Boards

The Kerala High Court has strongly criticised the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation for its failure to act against the widespread erection of illegal flex boards and banners on pedestrian footpaths, despite earlier judicial orders.

The Court expressed dissatisfaction with the civic body’s non-compliance and noted that the unauthorised signage obstructs public movement and violates citizens’ rights to accessible walkways.

It remarked that mere assurances without visible action would not suffice and directed the Corporation to file a detailed report outlining the number of violations, actions taken and fines imposed.

The matter has been adjourned for further review after the authorities place relevant details on record.
