Kerala High Court Upholds Prohibition of Birthday Celebrations and Videography Inside Guruvayur Temple

The Kerala High Court has reaffirmed its ban on birthday celebrations and videography within the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple premises, emphasizing that the space is meant solely for worship.

The direction came while hearing a petition concerning a social media influencer celebrating her birthday and filming inside the temple.

The Court clarified that only religious ceremonies, such as weddings, may be recorded with permission.

The court directed the Guruvayur Devaswom Managing Committee to enforce this restriction, stating that any violation would amount to a breach of the devotees' trust in temple sanctity.
