Kerala MLA Rahul Mamkootathil Moves Sessions Court Seeking Bail in Third Rape Case

Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil has approached the Principal District and Sessions Court, Pathanamthitta, seeking bail in the third rape case registered against him.

His plea comes after the Judicial First Magistrate Court, Thiruvalla, dismissed his bail application on January 17.

The Sessions Court is scheduled to hear the matter on January 22. Mamkootathil was arrested on January 11 following the registration of the present case and was subjected to custodial interrogation.

The prosecution alleges that he committed rape after inducing the victim to book a hotel room, leading to pregnancy and miscarriage, along with criminal intimidation.
