Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has filed a lawsuit in the Delhi High Court against Massive Restaurants Pvt. Ltd., challenging the trademark registration of "Nashville Fried Chicken" (NFC).
KFC claims that NFC’s name and offerings, particularly fried chicken, are deceptively similar, potentially misleading consumers into thinking the two brands are connected.
The KFC has filed both a rectification application and a suit, asserting that previous court rulings have barred other brands from using ‘FC’ for fried chicken.
In 2024, the court restrained ‘Ali Fried Chicken’ based on similar grounds. The court has sought a response from Massive Restaurants. The case will be heard on May 28.
