Law Students’ Conference Urges Rigorous Enforcement of Narcotic Laws

The law students’ summit "Justicia," organised by the Wisdom Students State Committee in Kozhikode on January 20, emphasised stricter enforcement of narcotic laws and proposed amendments to the NDPS Act, 1985, to combat drug possession, use, and distribution effectively.

The conclave highlighted the need for reforms in quantity-based bail procedures, penalty structures, and State powers, addressing legal loopholes that enable lenient sentences or evasion of accountability.

Participants called for empowering local socio-political organisations to assist government efforts in curbing drug availability and spreading awareness.

The event, part of a State-level student conference, featured insights from prominent lawyers and student representatives.
