Lilavati Trust Seeks CBI Probe Against HDFC Bank CEO Over Alleged ₹2.5 Crore Bribery

The Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust has moved the Bombay High Court, requesting that the investigation against HDFC Bank MD and CEO Shashidhar Jagdishan be transferred to the CBI.

The Trust alleges Jagdishan accepted ₹2.5 crore in bribes to help former trustees retain control. The case is based on handwritten diary entries submitted by trustee Prashant Mehta.

Jagdishan has challenged the FIR, calling the evidence unverified. A Bandra Magistrate had earlier ordered police to file the FIR.

The Trust has also filed ₹1,000 crore defamation suits against Jagdishan and HDFC Bank.
