Litigants cannot solely blame their lawyers for delays in court proceedings

The SC observed that Litigants can’t shift the blame on lawyers for negligence and carelessness in attending the proceedings before the court.

Litigants too have a responsibility to remain vigilant in overseeing how their cases are conducted, and cannot shift blame on their lawyers if there are delays in the progress of the case.

The Supreme Court refused to condone a 534-day delay in an appeal.
