The Bombay High Court directed brothers Abhishek and Abhinandan Lodha to attempt mediation to resolve their trademark dispute over the use of the name "Lodha."
Abhishek's company, Macrotech Developers, filed a lawsuit seeking Rs 5,000 crore in damages, claiming exclusive rights to the "Lodha" trademark, which they argued had been built over four decades with significant investment.
The court appointed former Supreme Court Justice R.V. Raveendran as the mediator and set a five-week timeline for the proceedings.
If mediation fails, the case will be heard for interim relief on March 21. The court emphasized that resolving the dispute between the brothers could settle other related issues efficiently.
