The Madhya Pradesh High Court has granted bail to a man accused of cooking and eating the meat of a Sambar Deer, a vulnerable species as listed by IUCN, at a PWD guesthouse in Nagod.
The bail was granted, keeping in mind that the forest officials could not establish a link between the applicant and the recovered meat as the FSL report was yet to be received.
It also observed that the officials could not determine who hunted the deer or where the hunting took place, warranting bail at this stage.
