Madhya Pradesh High Court Orders NEET‑UG 2025 Retest for Candidates Affected by Power Outages

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has ordered a re-examination of NEET-UG 2025 for candidates from Indore and Ujjain centres affected by power outages during the exam.

Over 100 petitions highlighted that thunderstorms caused 1–2 hour disruptions, forcing students to write in near darkness without compensatory time.

Despite NTA’s reliance on statistical reports showing no score deviation, the Court ruled that such data ignored the psychological impact on students.

Justice Subodh Abhyankar emphasized the violation of Article 14 and directed the re-test for petitioners who filed before June 3, 2025. Counseling will remain subject to the re-exam results, which alone will determine their rank.
