The Madras High Court allowed the Isha Foundation to hold its Mahashivaratri celebrations, rejecting a plea claiming pollution violations.
The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) confirmed that Isha follows all norms and has proper waste and noise management facilities.
A Coimbatore resident alleged past events caused pollution and violated noise rules by using loudspeakers after midnight. Isha countered that the petitioner had no valid reason to object. TNPCB also agreed to monitor noise levels.
Finding no evidence of violations, the court dismissed the petition and permitted Isha to proceed with its Mahashivaratri event.
