Madras High Court Grants Bail to Three Accused in Tiruppur Dowry Suicide Case

The Madras High Court granted bail to Kavin Kumar, his mother Annadhurai, and sister-in-law Chitra Devi, accused in the suicide case of 27-year-old Rithanya from Tiruppur.

Justice G. Jayachandran noted that the investigation, including witness examination, was nearly complete, making further custody unnecessary.

The Court directed the accused to appear before the jurisdictional police twice daily until further orders. Rithanya married three months ago and allegedly faced dowry harassment before her death.

While her family alleged cruelty, the defence denied dowry demands, citing equal financial status. The government stated forensic results of her voice recordings were awaited.
