Madras High Court Issues Guidelines for Safe Cattle Transport, Emphasizes Welfare

The court directed strict compliance with documentation requirements and ruled that long journeys must include rest stops, food, and water provisions

The verdict came after a case involving illegal cattle transport to Kerala, where animals were found jam-packed and injured. 

The court upheld the confiscation of cattle and rejected the petitioners’ claims, reinforcing animal protection laws.
