PIL Before Madras High Court Claims Delivery Persons’ Uniforms being Misused by Criminals

The Madras High Court has issued notices to the Tamil Nadu Director General of Police, the state government, and delivery platforms like Swiggy, Zomato, and Zepto in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking guidelines and regulation for quick commerce platforms. 

The PIL demands strict regulations for delivery personnel, including mandatory uniforms and ID cards, to prevent criminals from posing as delivery agents.

The petitioner cited the recent murder of lawyer K. Armstrong by attackers disguised as delivery agents to emphasize the urgency of the issue.

The court directed respondents to submit their replies within four weeks.
