PVR INOX Gets Interim Relief to Run Theatre at Chennai Airport, Restrains AAI from Interferce: Madras HC

The Madras High Court has granted interim relief to PVR Inox Limited, restraining the Airports Authority of India (AAI) from interfering with its cinema operations at the Aerohub, the cinema complex at Chennai Airport’s multi-level car park.

Justice N. Anand Venkatesh issued notice to AAI and adjourned the matter to July 7, 2025.

The case stems from AAI’s June 20 letter terminating the lease with Meenambakkam Realty Pvt Ltd, an SPV formed by Olympia Techpark, which sub-licensed the space to PVR for 13 years. PVR argued the termination was arbitrary and violated the 2018 Development Agreement.
