The Madras High Court has directed the police to initiate criminal action against Advocate R. Balasubramanian for stopping them from executing a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against his clients.
The court also directed the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to take disciplinary action.
The Court noted that the lawyer used abusive language against the judiciary and misled his clients by filing a transfer plea they didn’t understand.
The clients later apologised, stating they thought it was a property case. The Court accepted their apology and closed the contempt case against them, but expressed strong disapproval of the advocate’s conduct.
