Kolkata Court Sentenced Man Guilty for Raping 7 months old Child to Death

The POSCO Court in Kolkata sentenced a 34-year-old man guilty for rape, kidnapping and attempted murder of a seven month old child in north kolkata to death by hanging. 

Rajib Ghosh, the sole accused found guilty under Sections 65(2), 140(4), 137(2), 118 of BNS and Section 6 of POCSO Act. 

The Hon'ble Justice stated it to be the rarest of the rare cases, and could not think of any other punishment while delivering the verdict. 

The incident took place on November 30, 2024.
