The Manipur High Court has directed the Union and State governments to reply to a petition by the Kuki Women Organisation for Human Rights Trust, seeking compensation for women allegedly injured by security forces during a protest in Saibol village last year.
The court deferred notices to individual Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officers, citing concerns over troop morale, but allowed the government to file counter affidavits.
The court has not yet issued notice on demands for a criminal case or SIT probe.
The next hearing is on October 17.
