The Delhi High Court denied anticipatory bail to a woman accused of pouring boiling water mixed with chilli powder on her husband, causing severe injuries, locking him in a room with their infant daughter, and fleeing with his phone.
The Court highlighted that men, like women, can be victims of cruelty in marital relationships and deserve equal legal safeguards, rejecting gender-based leniency.
It criticised the accused for failing to cooperate with the investigation and not offering any justification for her actions, emphasising the seriousness of the offence.
The Court stressed that justice must be gender-neutral, prioritising fairness and equality.
