Mere Celebration of Bail on Social Media Not Ground for Cancellation: Delhi High Court

The Delhi High Court held that an accused or their associates celebrating bail on social media could not be a ground for cancelling bail unless a specific threat is made to the complainant.

The complainant alleged that the accused had violated bail conditions by posting photos flaunting weapons and uploading threatening videos.

However, the Court observed that it was not evident from the content that the posts were intended to intimidate the complainant. The Court further clarified that a bail could only be cancelled if there was a clear and deliberate attempt to threaten or influence witnesses.
