Madhya Pradesh High Court Warns Law Colleges Against Admitting Students Without BCI Recognition

  • Case Name: Vyom Garg & Others v. State of Madhya Pradesh & Others

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has ruled that law colleges admitting students without Bar Council of India (BCI) recognition will face criminal action.

This decision came after law graduates from Central India Law Institute were denied enrollment by the State Bar Council because their college hadn't renewed BCI approval since 2008-09.

The court mandated that colleges complete renewal formalities by December 31 of the preceding year, and the BCI finalize approvals by February 15 of the current year.

The Court also directed that pending renewal applications be resolved within two weeks to facilitate the affected students' enrollment.
